About the artist
John Kline is a Denver-based visual artist whose work explores the human condition through abstract and figurative forms. With a background in fine arts and illustration, Kline’s style is marked by his use of vibrant colors and layered textures, which create a sense of depth and movement. His pieces often reflect themes of identity, emotion, and transformation. He has exhibited widely, with a focus on engaging audiences by encouraging personal interpretation and connection with his artwork. Kline started his career as an art educator before gaining popularity for his work and transitioning to a full time artist.
His current work centers around depictions of past memories and moments of love, heartbreak, death, abandonment, loneliness, joy, and disappointment. Some of his pieces also explore personal fantasies and desires. Much of his artwork features linear lines influenced by comic illustration, used to express recollections and emotions related to these memories. The process of creating these works serves as a way for him to understand the impact these events had on his life and as a method of recovery from feelings of guilt, anxiety, and depression.
